About the Alive Center

The Alive Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting the youth of Naperville and beyond. The mission of the Alive Center is to create Teen-Led, Teen-Driven centers focused on empowering the youth of today to become confident, impassioned, resilient leaders of tomorrow. Through free after-school drop-in programs, mentorship, tutoring, and leadership opportunities, we provide a safe, inclusive space for teens to explore their passions, develop leadership skills, and build connections.

Position Summary:

The Alive Center seeks a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to research, develop, and submit compelling grant proposals to secure funding that supports our mission and programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit grant writing, excellent research and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple grant opportunities simultaneously. This role is crucial in helping to expand and sustain Alive Center’s programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with Alive Center’s mission and programs.
Develop compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications to secure financial support.
Maintain a grant calendar to track application deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding cycles.
Collaborate with Alive Center leadership and program staff to gather necessary information for grant applications, including budgets, program details, and impact data.
Prepare and submit timely grant reports as required by funders.
Assist in tracking and reporting grant outcomes and impacts.
Stay informed about best practices and trends in nonprofit grant writing and funding opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of 2 years of grant writing and management experience
Proven experience in nonprofit grant writing with a successful track record of securing funding.
Strong research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
Knowledge of nonprofit budgeting and financial reporting as it relates to grants.
Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with grant management software is a plus.
Ability to be a self-starter and take the Initiative while collaborating with other team members

Compensation & Benefits:

● $25 - $30 an hour based on experience.
