Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented proofreader to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity and consistency of written content by identifying and correcting grammatical, typographical and formatting errors. You'll collaborate closely with writers, designers and other team members to uphold brand standards and deliver polished, high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Proofreading & Editing:

Review and proofread various types of content, including print marketing (newspaper ads, postcards, flyers) and digital content (emails, social posts, websites).
Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax errors.
Ensure consistency in style, tone and formatting across all documents.
Verify accuracy of facts, dates and client information.

2. Quality Assurance:

Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all reviewed content.
Ensure that content adheres to the company's style guide as well as client-specific brand standards and preferences.

3. Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with writers, designers and other team members to understand the context and objectives of the content.
Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving the clarity and readability of content.
Communicate effectively to resolve any ambiguities or discrepancies in the text.

4. Content Management:

Manage and organize multiple documents and projects simultaneously.
Prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Maintain records of edits and corrections made for reference.

5. Continuous Improvement:

Stay up to date with industry standards, language trends and new proofreading techniques.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance proofreading skills.
Suggest improvements to the proofreading process and tools used.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
Proven experience as a proofreader or in a similar role.
Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for errors.
Proficiency in using proofreading tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Grammarly).
Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style) and content management systems (CMS).

Preferred Skills:

Experience in advertising and marketing.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
