The Social Media Content Creator is an avid TikTok and Instagram user with a passion for social media, pop culture and content creation for Crate and Barrel | Crate and Kids products. They have a deep understanding of current social media trends and what makes content compelling and engaging. This associate can natively capture and manage nuanced social content within the TikTok and Instagram apps, using visual storytelling and unique, unexpected techniques.

This position is a 4 day position based out of our Headquarters located in the Northbrook, Illinois office.

A day in the life as a Social Media Content Creator…

Ideate video concepts, filming all original video assets (on mobile device and camera) and editing whether in or outside of the TikTok and Instagram apps
Execute highly engaging content (videos and copy) to grow our TikTok and Instagram audiences by creating 1-2 TikTok videos per day, 5 Instagram Reels per month, and 1-3 Instagram Live events per month to start
Be the presence of our TikTok to grow follower growth, create awareness and engagement with our brands
Contribute to creative strategy by brainstorming with Social and Brand Marketing teams to create content ideas that infuse trends and pop culture that will increase engagement and test new formats
Partner alongside stakeholders to ensure content represents our brand identity and delivers on objectives
Community manage TikTok accounts: write captions, publish posts, and respond and engage in real-time to posts, questions, comments in our brand voice
Commute to various locations throughout the Chicagoland area to shoot and capture video content - Studio, Headquarters, Stores, and Events as needed
Keep up with the latest social media trends and features on TikTok and Instagram
Present concepts, creative deliverables, and learnings/insights in stakeholder reviews

What You’ll Bring To The Table…

Live and breathe “social media culture” - knowledgeable and up-to-date in different social trends, pop culture, and best practices
Understand TikTok’s ecosystem: trends, challenges, hashtags, filters, music usage, functionalities, guidelines, and best practices
Eye for design, staging, and props to style interiors and kitchen spaces to bring concepts and brand aesthetic to life
Strong passion for design and drive to understand topics relevant to design, furniture, decor, kitchen and entertaining
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment while staying organized, proactive, and adaptable
Tech-savvy, team player with strong communication skills - ability to connect and collaborate in person and remotely
Confident pitching content ideas to marketing and creative stakeholders with an emphasis on engagement and innovation

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

2+ years of experience in a related field producing video content for social media
Must be able to commute and work in different Crate locations as business needs dictate Responsible for capturing videos on site at the studio, headquarters, Crate stores, events, and maybe photoshoots in the future
Multimedia content creation and editing with the ability to capture and edit videos (and photos is a plus) and transform existing video into social-first content
Expert in capturing videos using DSLR camera or mobile device and online recording techniques
Proficiency with a range of Adobe Creative Suite products (Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) or other creative editing software
Significant experience as a TikTok and Instagram user or creator
Proficiency with Google suite (drive, docs, slides, etc)

Minimum Starting Rate: $50,000.00 Annually

Up to: $65,000.00 Annually

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
