POSITION SUMMARY
The Museum of the Bible is seeking a creative and strategic Digital Copywriter to craft compelling written content that drives engagement and motivates action—whether that’s buying tickets, becoming a member, or making a donation. In this role, you will support all digital marketing efforts by producing high-quality copy across websites, social media, email campaigns, and other digital media. You will also work closely with our Editorial, Product Marketing, and Creative teams to ensure that all content reflects our brand’s voice, style, and mission.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation:

Develop persuasive, action-oriented copy for digital channels, including websites, social media, emails, and digital advertisements.
Assist with writing SEO-friendly blog posts, product descriptions, and landing pages that resonate with our diverse audience.
Craft taglines, ad copy, and scripts for podcasts or YouTube videos to promote our exhibits and programs.

Campaign & Strategy Support:

Collaborate frequently with the Editorial team on high-level content strategy, ensuring that all digital messaging aligns with broader museum initiatives and curatorial standards.
Help create lead magnets (e.g., eBooks, guides) designed to capture interest and convert visitors into engaged supporters.

Collaboration & Coordination:

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the Digital Marketing team while actively coordinating with Editorial, Product Marketing, and Creative departments to maintain a unified brand message across all digital channels.
Editorial Partnership: Team up with the Editorial department to help develop and refine strategic digital content—ranging from exhibits and curatorial projects to high-level communications—that consistently reflects our brand’s voice and style.

Optimization & Analysis:

Ensure all digital content is optimized for SEO, readability, and conversion.
Monitor performance metrics and incorporate insights to continuously improve content effectiveness and audience engagement.

Brand Stewardship:

Uphold MOTB's brand, voice, and style in every piece of content.
Stay current on digital marketing trends and best practices to ensure our messaging remains innovative and effective.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
3+ years of professional copywriting experience in digital marketing—experience in the museum, cultural, or educational sector is a plus.

Skills / Core Competencies

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
Deep understanding of digital marketing principles, SEO best practices, and audience engagement strategies.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Proven capability to adapt tone, voice, and style across various digital platforms.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools (e.g., email marketing platforms, content management systems, analytics tools).
Experience collaborating with Creative and Editorial teams on integrated marketing campaigns.

Abilities / Attributes

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
A passion for storytelling and an appreciation for the museum’s mission of education, inspiration, and cultural engagement.
Passionate about the Bible and will champion our mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible.
As needed, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.
Must be able to work at and operate a computer terminal for 8 or more hours per day along with the ability to lift 25 pounds.
