Freelance Writer – Home + Garden

Tampa Magazines is seeking a talented freelance writer with knowledge of the home design industry to contribute editorial content to our Home + Garden department.

What You’ll Do:

Write feature-style stories on home design for print and digital platforms
Interview local designers and industry contacts to develop engaging editorial pieces
Source and secure high-resolution images directly from design manufacturers
Craft photo captions that complement provided images
Produce product-driven features, including contacting manufacturers for details and images
Write editorial on a wide variety of home and garden–related topics

What We’re Looking For:

Strong grasp of AP style and experience writing editorial (not marketing) content
Knowledge of the home design industry and current trends
Experience interviewing sources and weaving their insights into compelling narratives
Ability to source images and coordinate with designers/manufacturers
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Previous magazine, newspaper, or editorial writing experience preferred
Reliability in meeting deadlines with minimal rewrites needed

About the Role:

Freelance position
Work is remote, with regular communication with Tampa Magazines’ editorial team
Pay: Hourly rate based on experience and demonstrated ability to complete projects efficiently and independently
