Digital Marketing Strategist
TITLE: DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGIST (DMS)
REPORTS TO: DIGITAL MARKETING DIRECTOR
STATUS: SALARIED/EXEMPT
ROLE:
The Digital Marketing Strategist (DMS) reports to the Digital Marketing Director (DMD) and will lead The Observer Reporter & Reimagine Main Street’s digital sales and marketing efforts. The DMS is responsible for client digital marketing strategy, driving both results for the client as well as The Observer-Reporter & Reimagine Main Street’s digital revenue growth.
GOAL:The primary goal for the DMS is to generate and maintain digital revenue. The DMS may work directly with any client to provide a specialized set of skills and expertise. For standard digital marketing projects, such as banner advertising, Observer-Reporter sales consultants can take the lead with support from the DMS. However, on specialized digital marketing projects such as strategy development, website development, reputation management, content marketing, social media marketing, local search, pay per click, etc. the DMS will take the lead. The DMS is also expected to be a champion for digital marketing throughout The Observer-Reporter, Reimagine Main Street and the community – sharing knowledge formally and informally (via blog, email, social media, speaking, etc.), and otherwise positively influencing the digital culture of the Observer-Reporter.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in digital strategy and marketing a plus.
- Direct experience with marketing and revenue generation a necessity.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in an environment that requires regular evaluation, negotiation of priorities and the ability to achieve revenue goals.
- Strong customer service with interpersonal and communication skills required – the ability to interact with many different people, internally and externally.
- Ability to create long lasting client relationships built on trust and success.
- Teachable, and a constant learner – reads industry blogs, books, etc., with the desire to dive in, to learn, and shape their role and digital knowledge.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and with limited direction, at peak performance.
- Command of grammar and language sufficient to create professional documents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, & ever changing environment.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Growth in digital marketing revenue from assigned clients and projects.
- Digital marketing projects are completed efficiently, effectively, and profitably.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and relationship skills.
- Regularly finds new or unique ways to contribute to overall digital marketing efforts.
- Builds and maintains client relationships.
A valid driver's license is required. A college degree, along with prior sales and marketing experience, are preferred.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. at our Wheeling location, 1500 Main Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
