About the Center of Family Love
Center of Family Love (CFL) in Okarche, OK is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides residential and employment programs for adults with intellectual disabilities by cultivating their interests, skills and independence to live creative, productive and joyous lives. We are located 30 minutes west of north Oklahoma City.
Summary:
Under supervision of the VP of Philanthropy, the Fundraising Manager will provide strategy, coordination, and execution for the Center of Family Love. Due to this specialized philanthropic giving program primarily generates funding through memberships and special events, the ideal candidate needs to have proven experience working within a nonprofit development team with preference given to those with event management experience. It is essential that the candidate has a positive attitude and be a motivated individual with a genuine commitment to the mission of the Center of Family Love. Through this commitment, the Fundraising & Grants Manager will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s vision and goals by increasing the support of its special philanthropic opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- This position plays a key role in ensuring the Center of Family Love not only reaches, but surpasses its fundraising goals, manages fundraising plan and acts as primary contact for and solicitor of all members, donors, and sponsors; conducts donor prospect research, prepare briefing reports, and recommend strategies, acting as a consultant for the organization.
- Draft content, collateral and plans for annual appeals and other fundraising materials.
- Seek our new grant opportunities and manage grant applications and reporting to ensure all submissions are complete, well-written, and submitted timely.
- Prepare and present proposals to prospects for program sponsorships, special event and corporate support.
- Complete renewals, permits and licenses necessary to receive grants, donations and hold special events.
- Oversees/Manages the Fundraising Coordinator to Ensures correct and timely gift entry and recognition; membership renewal and organization of records; and the planning and execution of Membership stewardship and recognition efforts.
- Oversee the production and distribution of all print communications by coordinating the efforts of the marketing, graphics and events teams. Plan and execute an annual fundraising and membership strategy to include direct mail, digital, personal proposals, and events. Work with the VP of Philanthropy and the marketing team to ensure timely updates to and distribution of events and various information including, but not limited to, social media accounts and e-blasts.
- Develop effective and persuasive fundraising materials that articulate the mission and programs with a strong case for support.
- The Fundraising & Grants Manager manages all aspects of event planning with the event coordinator and execution of events; collaborates with staff and leadership team to plan and execute all aspects of the gala and various other fundraisers throughout the year, with assistance from the events coordinator.
- Work with the VP of Philanthropy to prepare and maintain all revenue and expense budgets; generate reports and respond to inquiries regarding giving as requested by the Finance Department.
- Contribute to a team environment by assisting with other projects and events when needed.
- Manage all event venue(s) and vendor relationships.
- Manage volunteer event planning committees.
- Orchestrate and execute event marketing and outreach.
- Network and attend civic, business, and social events to promote CFL.
- Plan, schedule and execute individual events in conjunction with the VP of Philanthropy
- Participate in post event de-briefing.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Business or Nonprofit Management preferred)
- Must have 5 years fundraising and 2 years of event experience.
- Experience working with volunteer-based committees or boards a plus.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekend based on events.
- A working knowledge of membership and event based fundraising best practices.
- Must have a valid driver's license, be insurable, and have access to a private vehicle for business use.
