We are seeking an experienced and results-driven freelance Grant Writer to assist with multiple grant applications from now until June 2025. This 1099 independent contractor role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work with a dynamic, mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to federal, state, local government agencies, private foundations, and corporate funders.
- Identify new grant opportunities that align with STP’s mission and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with STP leadership and program staff to gather necessary data, budget information, and narratives for grant applications.
- Develop persuasive, well-researched proposals that clearly communicate STP’s impact and funding needs.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal writing, submission, compliance, and reporting.
- Ensure all proposals and reports meet funder requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain organized records of submitted grants, deadlines, and funder communications.
- Assist with writing progress reports for existing grants, ensuring proper documentation of outcomes and budget usage.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Proven grant writing experience in the nonprofit sector, ideally in healthcare or community health centers (FQHC experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of funding sources such as HRSA, foundations, and private grants.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality grant proposals.
- Familiarity with grant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and budget interpretation skills.
- Experience using grant tracking software or CRM tools is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years of successful grant writing experience for nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge of healthcare funding trends, public health issues, and grant best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
