Our client is looking for a talented Communication Specialist to join their team on a contract basis in Tigard, Oregon (two days a week in office, three days a week remote). This role offers the opportunity to craft meaningful content for both external and internal audiences while supporting digital platforms that enhance user experience. The ideal candidate will excel in storytelling, clarity, and collaboration, contributing to impactful healthcare communication.
Title: Communication Specialist
Location: 2 days/week in office (Tigard, OR) and 3 days/week remote
Contract Type and Duration: Contract only for now, 2-3 months
Schedule/Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Pay: $20-25/hour
Onboarding Requirements : Background Check and Drug Screen

Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging external content such as patient stories, blogs, press releases, and community-focused articles.
- Create and refine website content, educational materials, and other health-related communications with a focus on clarity and compassion.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance internal digital spaces, including managing intranet content and organizing resources for better accessibility.
- Write internal communications such as organizational updates and department-specific messages.
- Apply best practices in content tagging, formatting, and search optimization to improve digital usability.
- Conduct content audits to identify areas for improvement, ensuring consistency and readability across platforms.
- Utilize or learn intranet tools to manage internal content effectively.
- Partner with staff to refine departmental resources and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Leverage skills in graphic design, photography, or video production to support communication initiatives.
- Minimum of three years of experience in content creation, corporate communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in copywriting and editing with a focus on compelling and clear messaging.
- Familiarity with intranet platforms and content management systems such as WordPress or Squarespace.
- Basic knowledge of information architecture and internal search optimization.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency in content presentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in healthcare marketing is preferred.
- Bonus skills include graphic design, photography, and video production.
