Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Proofreader to join our team. This position involves reviewing and correcting legal transcripts using accompanying audio. This is a digital scoping role that requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of grammar and punctuation, and ability to research.

Key Responsibilities:

Proofread legal transcripts against multichannel audio to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Correct grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and formatting errors in Microsoft Word.
Ensure transcripts adhere to company and jurisdiction-specific style guidelines.
Identify and flag inconsistencies, inaudibles, and missing content.
Utilize digital scoping techniques, including isolating microphone channels to resolve audio overlap or unclear speech.
Meet turnaround deadlines and maintain high quality standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of legal proofreading/scoping experience, preferably with audio.
Advanced knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and legal transcript formatting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word (required).
Strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with legal terminology, especially in criminal proceedings, is preferred.
AAERT Certification preferred.
