Topline:

COURIER seeks a Video Editor to join its national division to support production on its video podcasts and other serialized video content.

Responsibilities include:

Edit and publish long-form video products for YouTube
Create compelling social-first video content from COURIER’s longer-form video series and podcasts
Write platform-specific social media copy to accompany all videos
Produce and edit additional rapid response, breaking news, or creator social videos as needed.

The ideal candidate will have most of the following:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Digital Media, Film, Audio, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Experience creating high-performing video content for news organizations or brands
Strong understanding of social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram), algorithms, and best practices is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Descript, Canva is required
Willingness to work irregular hours during select breaking news moments or key political events (i.e. conferences, presidential debates, press events, election nights, speaking engagements)
