Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of the English language and an eye for detail, ensuring that all written materials are free from errors and adhere to established style guidelines. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and integrity of our content across various platforms. The Audit Statements Proofreader will identify, mark, and correct grammatical, typographical, style, footing of balance and composition errors in written content.

Responsibilities

Review and proofread documents for grammatical, typographical, and formatting errors.
Ensure consistent style and formatting in accordance with the organization’s style guide.
Ensures accurate spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Ensures the footing and cross footing of balance is correct.
Reviews headings, captions, pagination, copyright, and other metadata for accuracy and consistencyEnsure adherence to the Chicago Manual Style and other relevant style guides.
Conduct fact-checking to verify the accuracy of information presented in documents.
Edit copy for consistency in tone, style, and voice across all content.
Assist in proposal writing by ensuring that all submissions are polished and professional.
Provide feedback on creative writing pieces to improve overall quality.
Utilize word processing software effectively to track changes and comments during the editing process.

Requirements

Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
Proficiency in Chicago Manual Style; familiarity with other style guides is a plus.
Experience in copy editing, technical writing, or creative writing preferred.
Excellent fact-checking skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to write clearly and concisely while maintaining a consistent style.
Proficient in word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
