We're looking for a Contract Editor to join our client's dynamic publishing team, focusing on editorial content for our official companion site. This is a three-month contract opportunity. You'll play a key role in keeping our evergreen recommendations fresh and engaging for fans of TV shows and movies.
Your primary focus will be supporting our digital platform, which helps audiences discover and deepen their appreciation for the entertainment they love. You'll be responsible for regularly updating recommendation articles with new titles, collaborating with a team of freelance and contract writers, and contributing your own editorial updates.
Responsibilities:
The content you'll be managing includes:
- Diverse Recommendation Formats: Covering a wide array of genres, such as "Best Rom-Coms," "Scariest Horror Movies," or "Shows to Watch with an 8-year-old."
- Anniversaries and Celebrations: Highlighting significant releases, whether they're a series, film, or a memorable moment within an episode, and providing updates on documentary subjects.
- Release Guides: Compiling monthly and weekly guides for new releases and announcements for titles leaving the platform soon.
You'll utilize existing templates, leverage SEO data and research insights, and ensure all content elements, including headlines and SEO display, are cohesively packaged. Day-to-day tasks will involve planning and maintaining a recommendations update calendar, creating project cards, and managing content through the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Update existing recommendations content, collaborating closely with internal teams responsible for content slate and multi-title initiatives.
- Project manage and oversee all aspects of recommendations content, including creating project cards and enforcing deadlines.
- Work with writers to refine content structure and tone.
- Assign stories and provide both content and line edits as needed.
- Author editorial content.
- Adhere to our publishing editorial standards, tone, style, and brand guidelines, ensuring all content meets these criteria.
- Collaborate with our Growth Team to support audience engagement and distribution for recommendations content.
- Utilize SEO data, social insights, and research to develop and implement new content formats.
Qualifications:
- Entertainment industry experience.
- 3-5 years of content editing experience.
