Description
Shopbop is looking for a creative, innovative, and organized copywriter to craft compelling, inspiring copy for marketing assets across site, email, social, push & additional channels. The copywriter will collaborate with the Shopbop site marketing team, fashion office, and creative teams to conceive and execute complex campaigns & content across multiple platforms.
Key job responsibilities
- Write copy for website collateral and customer-facing communications, including homepage stories, emails, mastheads, UX copy, and promotions.
- Nimbly, expertly and quickly pivot tone of voice depending on the project, whether it’s an Tier 1 editorial campaign or promotional copy.
- Execute compelling long-form content that organically incorporates SEO terms and flows naturally.
- A high level of project ownership and self-editing skills.
- Work with the Shopbop editors, writers, marketing & creative partners to develop and execute narrative direction for editorial features and various marketing initiatives.
- Maintain strong up-to-date knowledge of the competitive fashion, style & online retail landscape.
- Maintain and develop Shopbop brand voice by creating compelling, accessible copy.
Basic Qualifications
- BA from an accredited university.
- 3+ years in a copywriting, editing, and/or content-related role, preferably within the online retail sphere.
- Proven experience writing concise, quippy, and engaging copy—specialties in the promotional and UX copy are a plus, but not required.
- Proven ability to write copy for a variety of platforms and customer touchpoints.
Preferred Qualifications
A proactive, can-do attitude.
- Knowledge and experience with SEO.
- Proven attention to detail and deadlines.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a demonstrated ability to apply them to internal processes.
- Experience working with a style book such as CMOS, AP, or an in-house book.
- Strong understanding of fashion industry and current trends, as well as familiarity with Shopbop’s top brands.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Excel.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $102,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
