Video Editor (Bilingual – English & Chinese) - San Francisco
We are seeking a bilingual (English and Chinese) video editor to join our team in San Francisco. This role is ideal for a journalist passionate about creating compelling, high-quality video content and delivering news in a dynamic, visually engaging format. The ideal candidate will have a strong professional background in video journalism and a deep understanding of the entire video production process, from pre-production to post-production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform single- and multi-camera video productions, including video editing;
- Operate and maintain video production equipment, including cameras, sound equipment, and lighting setups;
- Develop and pitch original story ideas, conduct research, write scripts, and schedule interviews;
- Manage social media accounts, upload multimedia content, and optimize engagement across digital platforms;
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and production staff to enhance video storytelling;
- Stay informed on news trends, particularly those relevant to China-U.S. relations, ensuring timely and impactful coverage;
- Other writing assignments and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in journalism, digital media, or a related field;
- Strong knowledge of video editing software, including Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and Final Cut;
- Experience working with digital and social media platforms to maximize content reach;
- Familiarity with journalistic ethics, fact-checking, and newsroom standards;
- Knowledge of China-U.S. relations and an ability to cover international affairs effectively.
This is a full-time position. We offer a salary and benefits package based on experience.
