JOB TITLE: Intern, Social Media
REPORTING TO: Social Media Editor

LOCATION: Manhattan
COMPENSATION: $16.50/hour, 30 hours per week
Position Overview
The purpose of this role is to assist the Content team in telling the story of New York City FC through best-in-class social media content. Working with the Social Media Editor, this role will provide a unique experience to learn and assist in the creation and execution of the club’s social media strategy across various owned Club channels. This role offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and community engagement within a professional sports organization.

What You’ll Do
Assist with documenting the New York City Football Club season on and off the pitch through best-in-class social media content
- Assist with all elements of social media publishing across New York City FC First Team, NYCFC II, Youth and Community channels
- Stay up to date with social trends and identify opportunities for engagement, collaborating with the Content team to deliver social media assets for owned channels
- Assist in developing content for social media platforms, including copywriting, graphics, videos, and written posts.
- Help with live social media coverage during matches or special events
- Attend Club events or matches to capture behind-the-scenes content
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for Club content
- Support in gathering analytics and creating reports on social media performance and engagement
- Follow brand guideline specifications and ensure consistency on quality during publishing
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
Who You Are
- Sharp editorial skills with good spelling, grammar and ability to articulate brand tone
- Strong knowledge of social media trends and knowledge of current and emerging platforms
- Proactive attitude, open to trying new ideas, eager to learn and highly organized
- Strong interest in soccer and sports media
- Must have excellent communication skills and willingness to learn
- Experience with video editing or photo editing is advantageous
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment
- Additional language/s is a plus.
