Our show blends engaging conversations, special guest interviews, and storytelling that captivates audiences across platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. We’re looking for a talented part-time Video Editor who can help us elevate the visual experience of our content!
Position Overview:
The Part-Time Podcast Video Editor will be responsible for editing video recordings of podcast episodes into polished, engaging, and platform-optimized videos. You'll work closely with the host/producer to maintain brand consistency, enhance storytelling through visuals, and create standout clips for social media.
Responsibilities:
- Edit full-length podcast video episodes (60–90 minutes) into polished final cuts for YouTube.
- Create short-form, high-impact video clips (30–90 seconds) optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Add intro/outro graphics, lower thirds, captions, and light motion graphics as needed.
- Sync video with external audio tracks and clean up minor audio issues (basic noise reduction, leveling).
- Remove long pauses, stumbles, or technical glitches while maintaining natural conversation flow.
- Collaborate on clip selection, episode highlights, and creative direction for visuals.
- Ensure all videos adhere to brand tone, pacing, and style guidelines.
- Deliver projects on time, typically within 12 hours after receiving raw footage.
Requirements:
- Proven experience editing podcast videos or similar long-form content.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
- Familiarity with basic audio editing and clean-up.
- Ability to add captions (manual or using AI tools like CapCut/Descript).
- Understanding of pacing and storytelling in conversational content.
- A keen eye for what makes content viral on social media.
- Strong communication skills and ability to accept feedback and revisions.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Bonus Skills:
- Graphic design or motion graphics experience.
- Knowledge of YouTube SEO best practices (titles, thumbnails, descriptions).
- Experience working with podcasts, influencers, or YouTubers.
Hours:
- Approx. 15–30 hours per week, depending on episode load and clip requests.
- Flexible hours, but must meet editing deadlines.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate or flat rate per episode (to be discussed based on experience).
