South Loop Loft is seeking a part-time E-Commerce Assistant to support the execution of our digital storefront. This role is ideal for someone who has a sharp editorial eye, an understanding of luxury and vintage design, and a passion for helping brands translate their voice across digital platforms.
This role’s primary focus is copywriting: crafting compelling product listings (titles, descriptions, condition reports) for a high volume of vintage furniture, lighting, and décor. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and confident in their ability to channel our brand voice across all touchpoints—while also contributing to the broader digital strategy through content updates, SEO, and data integrity.

Reports to: E-Commerce Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and proofread product listings across Shopify (includes product titles, descriptions, and condition reports)
- Ensure consistency with South Loop Loft’s editorial voice and style guide
- Optimize product listings for SEO (meta titles, alt tags, and keyword research)
- Assist in uploading and formatting new products and website content
- Support digital marketing efforts by drafting and scheduling content across platforms (e.g., Pinterest, email campaigns, landing pages)
- Maintain brand alignment across all content touchpoints
- Serve as the last set of eyes before products go live—ensuring accuracy in pricing, measurements, naming conventions, and formatting
- Help monitor site performance via Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics
- Assist with occasional QA testing to identify bugs or inconsistencies on-site
- Update internal Google Sheets, Airtable, or inventory tracking tools as needed
- Work cross-functionally with E-Commerce Manager and Inventory/Photography team
Key Qualifications:
- Experience writing and proofreading product descriptions (portfolio or samples required)
- Strong understanding of tone, voice, and branding in a luxury retail context
- Experience with Shopify (product uploads, formatting, navigation updates, etc.)
- Familiarity with Pinterest and content pinning for brand visibility and SEO (preferred, but not required)
- Knowledge of basic SEO best practices (keywords, meta titles, alt text, etc.)
- Comfortable working in Google Sheets or similar data management tools
- Bonus: experience with Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, or basic QA testing

Time Commitment – Part-time, remote with a preference for availability 3–4 days/week. Estimated 15–20 hours per week with room to grow.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
