Social Media Video Content Editor (Part-time/Temp)
*** This position is temporary for 3-4 months and part-time. You will be asked to provide a portfolio of recent social media video content demonstrating their editing skills and ability to create engaging, platform-optimized clips for review at a later date.
Position Overview:
The Social Media Video Content Editor will enhance our marketing and media efforts by creating compelling, story-driven short-form video content. This role is primarily responsible for clipping daily CHD TV shows, podcasts, and other video content that aligns with our movement, crafting clips with a strong hook and clear narrative arc to maximize viewer engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Stay current on video trends, social media best practices, and platform specifications
- Identify impactful moments within long-form content
- Provide 3-5 complete clips daily (captions, end card, copy)
- Edit raw footage into video clips for optimal engagement on platforms such as Instagram, Rumble, X, and YouTube
- Add accurate, stylized captions to all video content
- Write compelling and informative copy to accompany each clip, ensuring consistency with CHD’s voice and messaging
- Collaborate with the Social Media Team, Creative Manager and Marketing Manager to align video content with campaign goals and brand strategy
- Organize and maintain a video content library for future use and reference
Requirements:
- Advanced video editing skills, including a portfolio that includes social media content
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent
- Familiarity with captioning tools and standards.
- Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or nonprofit sector roles
- Strong writing skills for short-form content
- Ability to identify and elevate key moments in long-form video and audio content
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines
- Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms
- Solid knowledge of SEO and keyword search
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A strong understanding of CHD’s mission and audience
